Practical Experience
Betty Drake combines eight years of experience as a city planner with over 30 years of consulting for public and private sector clients. She has achieved recognition for work in environmental and land planning, bicycle and pedestrian transportation planning, trail design, equestrian facilities, resort and tourism plans, neighborhood planning, public art and place-specific urban design.
She has prepared Master Development Plans, submittal documents and site development plans for over 80 planned communities since 1977, ranging in size from 40 acres to 14,000 acres. She has prepared General Plans and worked in over 50 U.S. cities on projects related to livability, bicycling, walking and urban design.
Giving Back to the Community
She has served on the Scottsdale City Council since 2004. She has devoted countless volunteer hours for over 37 years on a wide range of boards, commissions and task forces, at all levels of government.
